Terms of Service

1. What TitleDrive is

TitleDrive lets an issuer create an item's first title, lets a titleholder claim, hold, transfer, and recover it, and lets anyone independently verify a title's full history. Every title event is signed, hash-linked, and published to a public archive, anchored to a public blockchain, so its history can be checked without trusting TitleDrive as an operator. By creating an account or otherwise using TitleDrive, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. This service is under active development

TitleDrive is a pre-release, actively developed product, not a finished one. Features, the underlying protocol, and its data formats may still change. Bugs, downtime, and mistakes are more likely at this stage than they would be for a mature product. Titles issued and claimed today are not guaranteed to be treated the same way by a future version of this app, and you should not rely on TitleDrive for anything with significant financial, legal, or insurance stakes until it has been running in real, stable use for a while. If that matters to you, wait, or ask info@titledrive.app about the current state of the service before relying on it.

3. A title records claimed history, not physical authenticity

A verified title shows that a chain of signatures checks out -- who signed what, and when. It does not, by itself, prove that the physical item is genuine. Be cautious: a record (and any tags) that check out do not prove the object itself is authentic. Treat TitleDrive as one input among others when you're deciding whether to trust an item's history, not as a substitute for your own judgment.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and any device holding your passkey secure, and for the accuracy of the information you give us. Don't use TitleDrive to issue or claim titles for items you don't have the right to represent, or to impersonate another person or business.

5. No warranty

TitleDrive is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any title, event, or verification result will always be accurate or available.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TitleDrive and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or the value of an item, arising from your use of the service. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the greatest extent the law allows.

7. Termination

You can stop using TitleDrive at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or misuses the service. Because the source of truth for a title is the signed, published event chain rather than this app's database, terminating an account does not remove or alter any event that has already been published to the public archive.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above. Continued use of TitleDrive after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, until further notice.
